CONCERT PLAN FOR THE MEMBERSHIP YEAR 2014/15
“Os Agostos”
updated November 13th , 2014
September 23rd and 25th, 2014 brought us Evgeny Gromov from Kiev, Ukraine
This was the inauguration of our new “home” and it succeeded with flying colours.
October 28th and 30th, 2014 will give us a chance to meet Peter Jablonski and his pianist wife Rebecca Barham. He is the founder and artistic director of the Carlscrona Chamber Music Festival in Sweden. “Peter Jablonski’s unique blend of Scandinavian introspection and Eastern European sensitivity, combined with an affinity for the optimism of the American repertoire, makes him a multi-faceted artist. With a career spanning over 20 years, Peter has performed and recorded with the world’s finest orchestras incl. the Philharmonia, BBC SO, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, La Scala and NHK Tokyo. He has collaborated with Ashkenazy, Chailly, Myung-Whun Chung, Charles Dutoit, Valery Gergiev and Esa- Pekka Salonen, among others.” Programme suggestions are in hand. They will play the second of our concerts at four hands. We are in for a treat.
This concert series was also very well received by full-house audiences. And the Amigos will certainly want to have another chance to hear these 2 musicians. (I particularly liked the first concert with Peter.)
November, 18th and 20th, 2014, We are happy to report, bring Anne Kaasa to us once again. She says: “Everything is well with me. I played in Paris (Salle Cortot) some months ago and in June I will go to Guatemala for concerts and Master-Class. I was there also last year and it was a great experience.” Great to welcome her again in a programme of music by Schubert, Beethoven, Liszt, Schumann, Grieg, Ravel.
Now briefly the plans for 2015 as they stand at the moment – more details will be given as soon as they are confirmed; (you can google all of these artists for your information): please note: there were some recent changes, and changes are always possible.
