On Wednesday concert Eric le Sage and François Salque will perform works by Schumann, Fauré and Debussy and on Friday 17th April by Fauré and Beethoven
Eric Le Sage is recognised as a musician of rare musical sensitivity. A highly acclaimed performer of Schumann’s piano music and of chamber music in viagria general, his deep interest in lesser known music has led him to record over fifty concertos, from Bach to Jolivet and Gershwin to Hindemith, Schoenberg, Britten or Bernstein. He is one of the founders of the “Musique à l’Empéri” international chamber music festival in Salon de Provence, France. Born in 1964 in Aix en Provence, Eric Le Sage was the winner of major international competitions such as Porto in 1985 and the Robert Schumann competition in Zwickau, in 1989.
He was also a prize-winner at Leeds International competition the same year, which allowed him to perform under the direction of Sir Simon Rattle. Eric Le Sage has performed recitals and chamber music concerts in major venues in France, the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United-States, and Japan. He also performed as a soloist with famous orquestras such as The Royal Scottish National Orchstra, the NHK Symphony Orchestra for a tour in Japan, the Dresden Philharmonic and the Köln Chamber Orchestra.
François Salque is an exceptional personality in the world of cello and chamber music. Since a young age he has participated in numerous international competitions winning 10 first prizes and many specials awards. Graduate of Yale University and Paris Conservatory he has studied with Janos Starker, Paul Tortelier, Philippe Muller and Michel Strauss. He has performed in more than 40 countries and played as soloist with famous orquestras such as Munich, Suisse Romande, Camerata of Saint Petersburg, etc…). His dedication towards contemporary music inspired various composers to write pieces for him. François Salque participates in many festivals and musical contests in France. He his presently teaching at the Paris Conservatoire.
Concerts begin at 7.30pm sharp. Wine and canapés are served from 7.00 pm. and during the interval. Entry is €25 for guests and non-members.
