The Circle of Music Friends, known as “Amigos de Música” is committed to bringing music from great performers to the Algarve audiences. It was originally set up to support recitals organised by Marie Huber and her husband, Volker,   at the  Centro Cultural de São Lourenço in Almancil which has now closed. Since 2014 the beautiful new venue for these activities is at the Estate of Os Agostos, near Sta. Barbara de Nexe .

The objectives are:

• To  maintain the highest  standards of musical performance.
• To promote and support financially musical performances throughout the year.
• To encourage the development of young Portuguese musicians by the provision of financial scholarship and performance experience

The Amigos de Musica raise money by membership subscription, by donations from members and others, and from fund-raising events and scholarship.

I would like to say a heart-felt “Thank you!” to our faithful members and patrons, and to our generous sponsors, for without their support we would not be able to bring these wonderful artists to the Algarve. Thank you for helping us in our mission the enrich the cultural life of the Algarve in such a meaningful way.
