December Concerts

Published: October 22, 2025

For our December concerts, on Tuesday, 2nd and Thursday, 4th,  we are delighted to welcome for the first time, Dona Sevene, an acclaimed pianist from France.

DONA SÉVÈNE: website  www.donasevene.com

Dona Sévène’s career reflects her own image: demanding, creative, and constantly seeking connections between different styles and artistic worlds.

Praised for her pianism — “subtle and brilliant, with a magnificent sense of nuance and colour,” “a lyrical piano, a radiant charisma” — she approaches each repertoire with integrity and intensity. Her particular warmth and genuine rapport with the audience enable her to lead listeners from Bach to contemporary composers, from traditional recitals to original productions of her own conception, embracing both jazz and modern works.

Her classical background is brilliant. She was awarded First Prizes in both Piano and Chamber Music at the Paris Conservatoire (CNSMDP), unanimously and with highest honours. At the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, she earned a unanimous First Prize in 2000. Recipient of the Lavoisier Scholarship from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she won several international competitions and received guidance from renowned masters such as Brigitte Engerer, Sergio Perticaroli, and Paul Badura-Skoda.

For over thirty years, she has performed across Europe, both as a soloist and with orchestras, in Berlin, Salzburg, Lausanne, Liège, Rome, Venice, and at major concert halls and festivals in Paris. Her artistic collaborations include Pierre Amoyal, David Bismuth, Henri Demarquette, and Julie Fuchs, as well as acclaimed actors Didier Sandre, Lambert Wilson, Marie-Christine Barrault, and historian Franck Ferrand.

She has created numerous theme-based performances and programmes dedicated to major art exhibitions, such as De Main en Mains (for five pianos and an actor), Dufy, PicassoTrois Enfants du Siècle (Musset, Sand, Chopin), and Louise de Vilmorin et Poulenc.

Her curiosity also extends to jazz, performing with Claude Bolling, Louis Mazetier, accordionist Jean-Louis Matinier, kora player Karim Zekri, and the Com’Bach 4tet, with whom she recorded Spirale 2024. She has released two classical recital albums and a Debussy recording in 2025.

Founder and artistic director of the Musique en la Jatterie festival for ten years, she also worked with the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and the Opéra de Paris. A dedicated pedagogue, she shares her passion through teaching and masterclasses.
