Summer greetings wherever you are spending your Summer Break, hopefully with as much music as possible. I am certainly spoiled for choice here in London and inspired to continue filling that cultural void in the Algarve again soon in our 2019/20 season.
We begin on September 10th at Os Agostos and, by fulfilling a legal duty, we start with the Annual General Meeting (AGM) before the first concert. You will be getting the AGM convocation any day now with all the details and I hope you will be able to come.
PLEASE NOTE: Only active, i.e. paid up, members can attend the AGM, and if you have not yet renewed, please do so now before the first concerts so that you will not be treated as guest. But of course the meeting will also be a convenient venue to bring your cheque to hand to the Treasurer.
The September concert series with Paul Silverthorne on viola andDavid Owen Norris on piano is a very fitting kick-off to our concert year. These two eminent musicians have chosen a most varied and delightful programme of works by Beethoven, Berg, Elgar, Mendelssohn, Clarke, Brahms and Cole Porter, excerpts of which they played on BBCRadio 3 “In Tune” on Monday. See the full programme on our website. Please come on
Tuesday, September 10th and Thursday, September 12th, 2019 to
our cherished venue, Os Agostos. Welcome pre-concert drinks on 10.9. will be served after the AGM and on Thursday from 18:15, as usual, and there will be drinks during the intervals, too. Concerts begin punctually at 19:00.
Don’t forget to make your reservation by sending an email to: http://reservasconcertos@gmail. co
I look forward to welcoming you, first to the AGM and then to the concerts. I also am very pleased to be able to meet and welcome our new members.
See you at Os Agostos, with best personal regards,
