NEWS FLASH
Dear Amigos,
Welcome in the New Year ! I hope and wish that your Christmas was a good one and that you and your family were able to celebrate the festive season with a lot of music.
This is a NEWS FLASH, in lieu of a January Newsletter, and it is mainly designed to draw your attention to a great musical event this summer that is highly recommended by several Amigos with personal experience of it during the past years.
I urge you to peruse their excellent website, be impressed by the calibre of performances on offer and make your plans – choose your events and fix your reservations asap.
July 20 to 29, 2018 FIMM – Festival Internacional de Musica de Marvao, Alentejo
This is a Festival with international artists at various venues in the beautiful town of Marvão, and to a limited extent also in nearby Portalegre and Alcantara, Spain. It is now in its fifth year and planned to be a regular annual addition to Portugal‛s cultural calendar.

For accommodation, if you choose to go there for several days, as we recommend, just go to “booking.com” where you will find the list of possible hotels and other accommodation. And, again, I urge you to do this as soon as you have made your decision about Tickets. I understand that this is crucial.
The drive from the Algarve to Marvao takes about 4 to 4,5 hours through the lovely Alentejo.
We are very interested in helping you in any way possible. Contact me anytime, and with the help of Amigos Edda Lungershausen, Margaret Jackson and John Perera we will try to assist.
