Salvador Sanchez is the winner of numerous awards including Second Prize at the XXVII National Piano Competition in Toledo and the Isobel Dunlop Composition Prize for his string quartet Black Rhapsody, and he received top honours at the Vigo International Piano Competition, where he was awarded Best Spanish Pianist. He will play works by some famous Spanish composers:
On Tuesday February 24th Salvador will play the ‘Goyescas’, a suite for piano composed by Enrique Granados in 1911, inspired by the paintings and universe of Francisco de Goya.
Please Note: Just for the Tuesday concert there will be no interval.
On Thursday February 26th he will play “Iberia”, Books I and III, composed by Isaac Albéniz, one of the most ambitious and influential piano cycles of the 20th century, inspired by landscapes and popular music traditions of Spain, and “Música callada” (“Schweigende Musik”), Book I, by Catalan composer Federico Mompou.
Both concerts will take place in the Auditorium of OS AGOSTOS near Santa Bárbara de Nexe. Doors will open at 6.00pmand the concert will begin at 7.00pm.! (www.OsAgostos.com).
Wine, fruit juices and canapés will be available for self-service from 06:15 pm before the concert and in the interval.
