The Georgian pianist Dudana Mazmanishvili is coming to us from Berlin for the second time on

Tuesday, May 18th and Thursday, May 20th, 2021

to play for us in matinee and evening performances the following programmes:

Tuesday:   J.S. Bach – Goldberg Variations, BWV 988 and a choice of popular encore works

Thursday: Mozart – Sonata in F major, KV 494, Chopin – Sonata b minor, op. 58 and Barcarolle

Dudana was born in Tbilisi in 1980 and had her first piano lessons from her mother three years later. When she was six she was accepted into Tbilisi’s Central Music School for Talented Children. Her concert debut took place aged 8 when she performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Georgian State Orchestra. By the time Dudana was 14 she had played Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Tbilisi Symphony.

In performances of concert and recital works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann and others Dudana’s lyrical gifts and exceptional virtuosity have won critical acclaim internationally. Prizes included the Busoni Competition in Bolzano, Nadia Reisenberg Award in New York resulting in her Carnegie Hall debut. Dudana has recently been named Cultural Attaché in Germany by the Georgian Government.

These Amigos de Música concerts at Os Agostos will take place in the auditorium.

For the matinée doors will open at 10.00am and the concert will begin at 11.00 am.  Coffee and biscuits will be available for self-service.  For the evening performance doors will open at 6.00pm and the concert will begin at 7.00pm. There will be wine, fruit juices and canapés available for self-service. Entry donation is €25 per person for guests and non-members payable in advance by bank transfer.
