TRIO PANGEA – BRUNO BELTHOISE, Piano; ADOLFO RASCÓN CARBAJAL, Violin & TERESA VALENTE PEREIRA, Cello – will give 2 concerts during December 2018. The first concert will be on Tuesday December 18 and will feature compositions by Joseph Haydn, Alexandre Delgado and Robert Schumann. The second concert will take place on Thursday December 20 and will feature pieces by Claude Debussy, Joaquin Turina and José Vianna da Motta.
TRIO PANGEA – is committed to interpreting XX/XX1 century music, particularly Portuguese music, and also developing original interpretations of the great classical and romantic trios. The Trio Pangea has regularly performed in France, Portugal, Spain and Belgium and at venues such as the Gulbenkian Foundation, the Institut Français, the Estoril Festival and many others. They frequently play music by contemporary composers such as Sérgio Azevedo as well as the great trios by Haydn, Debussy Fauré and Schumann. Trio Pangea also perform works by 19th. and 20th. century Portuguese composers such as Luis de Freitas Branco and José Vianna da Motta. They record on the NAXOS label.
BRUNO BELTHOISE – is a French concert pianist, composer and improviser. He won the Fondation de France prize in 1988 and the Diplôme Supérieur d’Exécution in 1997. Bruno was a founding member of the Trio Pangea and many contemporary composers including Alexandre Delgado, Fernando Lapa and Sérgio Azevedo have dedicated their works to him. He has recorded more than 15 CDs. His efforts have been supported by several institutions such as the Gulbenkian Foundation, Portugal’s Ministry of Culture and Portugal Radio’s Antena 2.
ADOLFO RASCÓN CARBAJAL – is a Spanish violinist who graduated from the Oviedo Conservatory. He completed his training at the University of Graz and Madrid’s Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia. He won the Young Musicians Competition of the Kunstuniversität Graz and the “Ciudad se Oviedo” Violin Competition. He was a founder member of the Pangea Trio and is a soloist with a number of orchestras including the Principality of Asturias Symphony.
TERESA VALENTE PEREIRA – was born in Lisbon. She initially studied the cello with Maria José Falcão. She later graduated as the Best Cello Student at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia in Madrid. She has won many awards and is regularly invited to perform as a soloist with orchestras such as the Bilbao Symphony and the Gulbenkian Orchestra. Teresa has performed in some of the most prestigious concert venues in Europe and has been invited to play at important festivals such as the Estoril Festival. She made the first ever recording of Armando José Fernandes’ Sonata with pianist Bruno Belthoise. Teresa is presently the principal cellist at the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra as well as being highly active with the Trio Pangea and other ensembles.

Amigos de Música concerts at Os Agostos begin at 7.00pm sharp. Doors open at 6.00pm and wine, fruit juices and canapés will be served. There will also be a short interval with refreshments served. Entry donation is €25 per person for guests and non-members.
The AMIGOS DE MÚSICA is an international group of around 90 members who stage musical activities by internationally renowned musicians and also sponsor young Portuguese musicians. It is a non-profit organization and celebrated its twenty-eighth anniversary last year.
