Peter Jablonksi, piano, will give solo interpretations of pieces by Schubert, Debussy, Chopin and Liszt on Tuesday October 28th., 2014. On Thursday October 30th. Peter will be joined byhis wife, pianist Rebecca Barham, and together they will play with “4 hands” music by Mozart, Schubert, Ravel, Debussy and Grieg.

Peter Jablonksi was born in Sweden to Swedish and Polish parents. He studied piano and percussion in Malmö and later piano and conducting at London’s Royal College of Music. There Vladimir Ashkenazy invited him to record his debut disc with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra which launched Peter’s career.

Peter made his recital debuts in Washington in 1992 and London’s Royal Festival Hall the following year. He has since performed and recorded with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, La Scala and Tokyo Symphony Orchestra among others with conductors such as Esa-Pekka Salonen. This year Peter has already given recitals in London, Santiago de Chile, Berlin, Munich and New York. He has recorded extensively under the Decca label. Peter’s most recent release (in May 2014) was a Grieg album. Peter is the founder and artistic director of the Carlscrona Chamber Music festival in Sweden.

Rebecca Barham grew up in London and started playing the piano when she was 4. She gave her first public performance at the age of 10 playing Bach and Scarlatti sonatas. Rebecca studied piano at the Trinity College of Music. Her London debut was at St. Martin in the Fields playing an all-Russian program. Rebecca completed her post graduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music where she was awarded a Disney bursary and gained a distinction for her post-graduate Diploma recital. Rebecca has since given concerts in Europe and Hong Kong and has broadcasted on radio and TV. She is assistant artistic director of the Carlscrona music festival. Peter and Rebecca and their family live in Lisbon.
