CHRISTMAS, to us means, we have reached the end of the first part of the 2024/25 concert season which, I hope you agree, was not shy of variety. Two duos, one with old friends on piano and cello, and then a new, first-time piano and violin duo, were followed by a left-hand-only pianist who introduced to us an astoundingly rich repertoire for this genre.  What a surprise this was!  And then we were treated to a breath-taking finale by the Ukranian, Artem Yasynskyy who blew fresh air into piano music with imaginative and passionate variations.  Quite a fête, don’t you agree ? 

We are certainly planning to also live up to your expectations in the first part of 2025 with this fixed-dates Concert Schedule:

February 18 and 20        Jeonghwan Kim, piano

March 11 and 13            IsnordPiano Duo, one  piano, 4 hands                                  

April 8th and 10               Macha Kanza, piano

May 6 and 8                   Lucy Parham, piano and actor 

June 3 and 5                  Dudana Mazmanishvili, piano

As always gates at Os Agostos open on concert days at 18.00h and the hospitality service begins at 18.15h.

PRIORITY BOOKING: For the February Concerts members’ priority booking (one week) will open on 20th January 2025.

Maria and Antonio Farrajota have recently informed us that they are stepping back  from their active business and that they have entered into a partnership with a Lisbon events company,“MAD Kitchens”, who from now on will be responsible for all weddings and other events at Os Agostos. For the next year Maria and Antonio will still be looking after the running of the property and their existing staff are to be kept.

They have assured us that our music activities are included as an integral part of this change and all above dates are assured by the new management for 2025. However as the new management is proposing to use the rooms for their staff, we shall not be able to benefit as reliably from the Os Agostos accommodation for our artists as we have up until now

I thank those Amigos who have already offered accommodation for our artists in the past, and would like to ask other members who live in the Agostos area and have guest accommodation whether we could draw on you for help from time to time.  

We, the Amigos Committees wish you all a festive season without stress and WITH A LOT OF MUSIC I look forward to welcoming you again in the New Year in Os Agostos for the second part of our present concert season.
