Press release: MARCH 2010 CONCERTS

DUO MECINA – FRANCISCO CANTÓ, CLARINET & ISOLDA CRESPI, PIANO. The Concerts will be on Thursday March 25th. and Saturday March 27th., 2010.  Thursday’s concert will be devoted to NATURE & CITY and will feature pieces by Robert Muczinsky, Robert Schumann and Eduard Toldra.  The Saturday concert will be focussed on SPANISH MUSIC and will feature pieces by Albert Guinovart, Salvador Brotons and Isaac Albéniz.

The DUO MECINA was founded in 2000 at the Royal College of Music where Francisco Cantó and Isolda Crespi were studying.

FRANCISCO CANTÓ was born in Cadiz in 1981 and first studied at the Cadiz Conservatoire, and later in Malaga. He then continued his studies at the Royal College of Music in London and, later, at the University of Indiana.  He has performed with the Spanish Youth Orchestra and the orchestras of Granada and Almeira.  He is now a professor at the Cadiz Conservatoire.

ISOLDA CRESPI was born in Barcelona where she commenced her studies.  Isolda obtained her diplomas at the Barcelona Conservatoire and later, in 2004, at the Royal College of Music.  She has recorded two CDs of music for two pianos and played for Lisbon’s After pressing this button you will be redirected to the casino mentioned in the list. station.  Isolda has performed as a soloist in Spain, France, South Korea, the UK, Portugal and Switzerland.

In the UK the Duo Mecina has performed in London (St. Martin in the Fields, St. James’s Piccadilly) and Edinburgh (Red Hall during the Fringe Festival).  They have also performed at the Music Festival of Cadaqués and in the Festival “Musica en las Montanas” near Granada. Francisco and Isolda have participated in classes with a number of prestigious musicians and have a vast and varied repertoire.

Concerts at the Centro Cultural begin at 7.30pm sharp.  Wine, lemonade purchase cheapest viagra and “nibbles” are served from 7.00pm.  During the interval wine and canapés are served. ABOUT THE AMIGOS AND THE CENTRO CULTURAL SÃO LOURENÇO

The Centro Cultural is located next to the historic Church of São Lourenço, near Almancil, which is famous for its remarkable Azulejos or tiles. The Centro Cultural holds regular exhibitions by well known artists and sculptors. The AMIGOS is an international group of around 100 members who support the musical activities at the Centro Cultural by underwriting the concerts which are regularly performed there. 2010 is a significant year in the history of the Amigos as it marks the first twenty years of its existence. The Centro Cultural and the AMIGOS welcomes everybody to their concerts but reservations are essential.  There are also some vacancies for new AMIGOS.
