WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 30th., 2009 & WEDNESDAY JANUARY 6th., 2010. PIANO FOR 4 HANDS – ANA MARGARIDA SILVA & ANA LUÍSA MONTEIRO.

On the December 30th. Concert Ana Margarida Silva and Ana Luía Monteiro will perform pieces by Mozart, Mendelssohn, Brahms and Liszt.  On January 6th the 2 Anas will play pieces by Grieg, Dvorak and Rachmaninov.

Ana Margarida Silva was born in Lisbon in 1983 and started her musical studies when she was 12 at the D. Dinis Conservatory in Odivelas where she obtained her degree after studying with Professor Savka Konjikusik.  Ana Margarida has participated in a number of master classes.  In 2007 she participated in Lisbon’s Teatro D. Maria ll with flautist Pedro Camacho in a radio program broadcast by Antenna 2.  In 2008 she won the “Eng. António de Almeida Prize” as best student in her class at the Music School at Évora.  She presently combines teaching with being a piano accompanist at the Lisbon National Conservatory, Sintra Conservatory and Tejo National Orchestra. Ana Margarida continues to study under maestro António Rosada at Évora University.

Ana Luísa Monteiro was also born in Lisbon and started her piano studies at Lisbon’s Gregorian Institute.  She continued her studies in Porto where she obtained her piano degree under Professor Luís Filipe Sá.  She currently studies with Prof. Savka Konjikusic.  She made her radio debut on Antenna 2 performing as a soloist and in a chamber

group in “Concerto Aberto”.  In 2008/09, through the Erasmus Program, Ana Luísa studied at Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc Academy under Professor Laszlo Baranyay.  She has participated in a number of master classes under several eminent pianists.

Concerts at the Centro Cultural begin at 7.30pm sharp.  Wine and lemonade is served from 7.00pm.  During the interval wine and canapés are served. FEBRUARY 2010 CONCERTS. PIERS LANE, PIANIST, purchase viagra us WILL PERFORM 2 CONCERTS MUSIC BY CHOPIN.  THESE WILL BE ON FEBUARY 10th. & 13th., 2010. Frédéric Chopin was born in March 1810 so next year will be the 200th. anniversary of his birth in Poland.  Chopin’s music expanded the technical and expressive range of the piano which Piers Lane so brilliantly displays in his interpretations of Chopin.

ABOUT THE AMIGOS AND THE CENTRO CULTURAL

The Centro Cultural is located next to the historic Church of São Lourenço, near Almancil, which is famous for its remarkable Azulejos or tiles. The Centro Cultural holds regular exhibitions by well known artists and sculptors. The AMIGOS is an international group of around 100 members who support the musical activities at the Centro Cultural by underwriting the concerts which are regularly performed there.  The Centro Cultural and the AMIGOS welcomes everybody to their concerts but reservations are essential.  There are also some vacancies for new AMIGOS.
