The Trio Pangea was established by its three founding members to bring XXth Century music to an international audience. The Trio Pangea has been recording chamber music by France’s Emmanuel Hieaux and pieces by Portuguese composers including Luis de Freitas Branco and António Fragoso. The Trio’s musicians are:
Bruno Belthoise, a French Pianist. Adolfo Rascón Carbajal is a young Spanish violinist. He won a scholarship from the Albéniz Foundation and performs as a soloist and chamber musician.
Teresa Valente Pereira is a Portuguese cellist who has won scholarships from the Gulbenkian, Carolina and Albéniz Foundations as well as the German Government. She has played both as a soloist and chamber musician in Portugal, Spain, Italy and France. She was a member of the Grupo Albéniz and of the EUYO working with Sir Colin Davis and playing at the Royal Albert Hall and Berlin Philarmonic. She has been principal cello of the Lisbon Metropolitan and Asturias Symphony and collaborates with the Gulbenkian Orchestra. Concerts begin at 7.30pm sharp. Wine and canapés are served from 7.00pm and also during the interval. Entry is €25 for guests and non-members. ABOUT THE AMIGOS AND THE CULTURAL CENTER
The Cultural Center, located next to the historic Church of São Lourenço, near Almancil, is famous for its remarkable Azulejos or tiles. The Cultural Center, which recently celebrated its 25th. Anniversary, holds regular exhibitions by well known artists and sculptors and is open to all. The AMIGOS is an international group of around 100 members who support the musical activities at the Cultural Center by underwriting the concerts which are regularly performed there.
